our story

it was the middle of september when i started riding warrior fortune, aka fortune. fortune is a 15.2 hand high blood red bay appendix quarter horse gelding, who was born on april 14th making him 9 years old. he was raced when he was younger, but just didn't cut it. he was then sold to my current trainer, where she then trained him and was being sold. after some conflicts happened he wasn't offered for sale anymore. fortune is now a permanent school horse at wingsong stables.

fortune and i have been in two shows. in our first show we took two 5ths for our jumping class and 4th in our flat class out of seven riders. in our second show together we pined two 3rds in jumping and 7th in our flat out of seven riders due to a wrong lead and the judge ate at that. after our last show i have decided that showing just isn't each others thing. so as of right now i am on showing hiatus.

fortune has taught me so much about riding in the last few months that i have been riding him. he has taught me how to trust, how to stay quiet and calm, how to be patient, and loads more. as of august 2008 we are jumping 2'3 regularly. and occasionally 2'6. when i get back into showing i plan on competing in eventing, because i would like to compete in cross country. wish us luck (:
